China : Hebei acquires 256,000 tons of new cotton since Nov 10

Hebei cotton enterprises have purchase 256,000 tons of new cotton as of November 10 this year, accounting for 40.5 percent of the expected total output of 631,000 tons this year.

Due to the impact of greater cotton production at home and abroad, and price slump in international market, Hebei’s price has undergone a fluctuating situation from high to low and gradually into steadiness, after new cotton arrived in the market.

By mid October, the procuring price of seed cotton (at 3 grade level) has retained at 5.2 yuan per kg or so, down 0.40-0.60 yuan from the same period last year.
