China : Weekly report on Changshu polyester yarn market (24-30)

This week (11.24-30), the spot price of PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid) uplifted, with mainstream price rose from 8150 yuan to 8300 yuan (buyers to fetch goods by payment in cash). The total market turnover of polyester yarn increased slightly compared with last week.

FDY 75D/36F bright varieties sold well, DTY (Draw Textured Yarn) was sluggish in sales, and individual transactions showed minor recession in price.

Judging from the current market dynamics, the sales of FDY 75D big bright performed well, with current price at 13300-13500 yuan per ton.

The market movement of DTY 150D/96F, 200D/96F (given weight) relied on trading volume, basically products from Xiao'shao region were offered at 13300 - 13,700 yuan per ton recently.

The overall market supply of conventional varieties DTY100D and 150D were exceeding demand, with current price at 13800-13900 yuan per ton and 13200-13300 yuan per ton, respectively.

Prices of FDY (Full Drawn Yarn) varieties remained stable, the current market prices for conventional varieties of FDY category were: 50D/24Fat 14700 yuan/T, 68D/24F at 13500 yuan/T,68D/24F at 13500/T, 75D/24F at 13300/T, 100D/48Fat 12800 yuan/T, 150D/96F at 12400 yuan/T.

The local operation rate of large circular knitting machines has continued to decline, now the circular knitting machine operation rate has dropped below 50 percent.

The actual consumption from downstream is not satisfactory. It is expected that polyester yarn market is still vulnerable and will remain in a weak consolidation next week.
