China : Annual yarn output likely to reach 17.7 mn tons

Total yarn output reached 12.4339 million tons in January-September 2006, an increase of 21.6 percent over the same period last year; fabrics output accumulated at 31.929 billion meters, rising 16.15 percent, of which, the contribution rate of cotton fabrics, blended fiber woven cloth and pure synthetic fiber fabrics were 55.42, 14.59, and 29.99 percent, which was roughly in line with their composition percentage.

It is expected that the annual yarn output would reach 17.72 million tons, and annual fabrics production will achieve 45.4 billion meters.

From January-August 2006, investment into cotton and non-cotton fibers textile achieved 38.83 billion yuan, an increase of 34.7 percent over the same time last year.

In January-September 2006, investment into cotton and non-cotton fibers textile recorded 44.6 billion yuan, an increase of 29.7 percent over the same period last year, growth rate dropped significantly.
