China : Local textile companies prefer imported automatic winders

According to international tender data, China’s international tender of auto-winders in the third quarter of 2006 was focused on three grant enterprises of Japanese Murata, Italian Savio, and German Schlafhorst.

Big companies accounted for 95 percent of the total shares. Qingdao Hongda was the only Chinese manufacturer which was able to garner a mere one percent market share.

Latest data indicated that automatic winder imports reached US $27.25 million at 173 sets in October 2006, an increase of 13.45 percent from the same period, last year.
