China : French clothing sector seeks cooperation with Shantou garments

A French commerce delegation led by Zhang Yi, president of French-Chinese Clothing Industry Chamber of Commerce visited Shantou City on Dec 17-18 to see about industrial cluster bases of "Chinese arts and crafts sweater city" and "Famous Chinese sweater town", on purpose of seeking cooperative opportunities between the two sides.

Not long ago, the Shantou Textile and Garment Chamber led dozens of textile and garment enterprises and representatives attended the Paris fashion exhibition and achieved good results. Shantou Clothing Industry Chamber also concluded friendly Chamber with French-Chinese Garment Industry Chamber, hoping to strengthen exchanges between the two chambers, and actively contributing to the vigorous development of China's textile and garment industries as well as the promotion of Sino-French economic and trade relationship.

According to relevant data, French-Chinese garment Chamber founded in France in 1999. More than 400 Chinese garment wholesalers in 11th district in Paris formed the first Chinese trade associations in France at that time. Now the 11th district has become one of the clothing wholesale centers in France and even in Europe.
