China : Wuxi Textile Garment City to open in March

The world's largest textile and garment city -- Wuxi New World International Textile Garment City will be formally opened on March 28, 2007.

Wuxi New World International Textile and Garment City was built by Shenzhen New World Group with huge investment of 4 billion yuan into Wuxi city. The building size covers 1.3 million square meters, the largest one in the world.

Wuxi New World International Textile Garment City has recruited nearly 10,000 domestic and overseas garment Brands. It will truly become China’s largest fashion center, including spot wholesale, orders distribution, regional agencies, retail-chains and online trading.

As the world's largest textile and garments city, the city will emerge to be a main galaxy of well-known clothing brands from domestic and abroad.

According to report, up to now, more than 7000 manufactures from Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and other places have stationed in the city. They have opened typical local featured fashion houses. Buyers from domestic and abroad could find all of China’s leading brands here.

Apart from domestic clothing brands, clothing brands from abroad are eye-catching. The first batch of more than 70 famous garment brands from the US will come to settle in the city. And recently about 19 manufactures from South Korea flew to Wuxi to sign settling contracts. It is learned that about 200 enterprises from South Korea to positively follow the movement.

According to statistics, some well-known clothing brands from 16 countries have announced to move and station in the city, and more brands from more countries are under negotiations. At present the city has officially opened ‘European Fashion House’, ‘American Fashion House’, and ‘Korea Fashion House’. It is released that before the opening in next year, about 2000 overseas well-known garment brands will join in the commercial chains.

Textile and garment buyers both from domestic and abroad also hold full anticipation of the birth of China’s largest fashion center. It is learned that some countries have already set up their purchasing centers in Wuxi New World International Textile Garment City.
