China : Italian textile machines’ producers keen to expand market

According to the Italian Foreign Trade Committee (ICE), under the joint organization of Italian Foreign Trade Committee and the Association of Italian Textile Industry Machines’ Producers (ACIMIT), in order to further exploit Chinese market, the team including over 50 Italian textile machines’ producers participated in the 10th China International Textile Machines Exposition, held on October 2006 in Beijing city.

China is still the most important market for Italian textile machines industry. In 2005, Italy exported 300 million Euros worth of textile machines to China, accounting for 14 percent of the total textile machines’ export.

Italian Foreign Trade Committee said that their textile machines are the second in the world. At present, there are over 300 units related to textile machines industry employing 23,000 workers.

Around 80 percent of textile machines are exported to over 130 countries and areas.
