China : Paraxylene plant under way at Dalian

Textile industry in China is on the expansion spree and many plants producing raw materials required for textile production are under way.

One such plant is on the verge of finish in Dalian of Lyaonin province, where Dahua and Dalian Fujia (China) is creating a paraxylene plant.

With the investment of $571 million, the plant will have capacity of 450,000 tons per year.

Production of benzene and orthoxylene is also expected to the tune of 200,000 tons per year and 100,000 tons per year respectively.

Paraxylene will be used for the production of terephthalic acid at plant; this facility will come on line in 2008 in Dalian with the capacity of 500,000 tons per year.

Investment in the terephthalic acid plant construction is $251 million.
