China : Exports of funny yarns decline by 50% in 2006

In 2006, export value of funny yarn declined 50 percent over 2005 because of trade friction with US and EU.

As the sales of funny yarn in domestic market is not so big, development of funny yarn’s market solely depends on exports.

Funny yarn has been widely used in clothing, household textile and in decoration of scarf, shawl, arras, leisure bags. The consumption of funny yarn in knitting products is subjected to its style.

As consumption of funny yarn in household textile and decorating industry is increasing, the domestic sales are also expected to soar.
