China : Henan Textile posts output value of 66.3bn yuan in 2006

The total textile industrial output value of above-scale enterprises in Henan province reached 66.37 billion yuan in the first 11 months 2006, a growth of 34.98 percent over the same period last year. Cotton yarn production ranked the third in the country. Industrial profits increased sharply, products structure further optimized and quality of economic performance improved significantly.

As of the end of November 2006, Henan produced 1.6446 million tons of cotton yarn, 1.655 billion meters of cloth, 9.18 billion meters of printed and dyed cloth, 120 million pieces of Down feather garment, representing a year-on-year growth of 27.14 percent, 19.24 percent,19.22 percent and 54.9 percent, respectively, all higher than the national average.

From January to November, the total sales income of Henan textile industry amounted to 60.48 billion yuan, up 39.46 percent. Taxes paid up to 2.65 billion yuan, an increase of 48.09 percent over last year, realized profits of 3.37 billion yuan, up 73.43 percent over the previous year, higher than the national average growth of 44.8 percent.

Meanwhile Henan textile industry completed export value of 4.83 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.18 percent. All major economic indicators were higher than the national average level. Therefore Henan textile industry consolidated scale with quality, unified speed with efficiency in 2006.
