China : Light Textile City earns turnover of RMB50bn in 2006

Light Textile City, the largest special market of light textiles in Asia, achieved turnover of RMB50 billion in 2006.

This figure is 11 percent higher than that of 2005. Growth was obtained last year due to city’s focus on brand marketing strategies, strong advertising, co-operation of firms with authorities and other market activities.

Local Government is planning to set up ‘China Textile City’, a modern international textile hub aimed at improving co-operation with global exhibition companies, strengthening regulation of market resources, standardizing market order at reasonable costs, thus creating a business environment with strong cost competitiveness.

Government is confident about developing China Textile City, despite any difficulties which could be posed by the future competitive environment.
