Two third of Chinese textile and clothing industry is saturated in Guangdong province and Zhejiang province, including surrounding areas like Shanghai and Jiangsu province.
The agenda of the meeting in 2nd Textile and Clothing Industry Cooperation and Development Forum was mainly based on increasing cooperation between these regions.
Zhejiang province and surrounding areas have 58 textile and clothing industry areas. On the other hand, Guangdong province and surrounding areas have 25 textile and clothing industry areas.
Out of these provinces, Guangdong province industry has advantage in production of clothing that assists them in attracting more business and Zhejiang province has better industry chain with lead in fabric trade.
In the meeting, experts suggested textile and clothing industry to shift their business to Western China to increase overall performance of the country.
