China : Jiangsu issues guidelines for cotton seed sales price

Jiangsu Price Bureau recently issued a notice, pronouncing sales guide price for rice and cotton seed in 2007. The prices are based on related documents and regulations by the State Development and Reform Commission, the general office of Jiangsu provincial Government.

Meanwhile, the decision is also established with combination of the market supply and demand situation in Jiangsu province.

Regarding guide prices for cotton seed sales, retail guidance price for general varieties of hybrid cotton seed is 75 yuan per kilogram; retail guidance price for the protected species being approved before December 31 2003 is 82 yuan per kilogram.

Retail guidance price for the protected species being approved after January 1, 2004 is 88 yuan per kilogram. All the retail prices are no longer to float upward, but are open to downtrend floating.

Wholesale prices of various species are self-identified by operating enterprises on basis of target retail price with less than 10 percent deduction. Patent royalty of GM varieties is included.
