China : Domestic scope of home textiles widens

Household textiles show a momentum of rapid development. Gao Yong, Vice President of China Textile Industry Association, said recently, as consumer demand boosted, the share of household textiles in domestic market has risen to 30 percent from mere 10 percent in 2000.

As an overall improvement in living standards, citizen’s pursuit in home environment has shifted from physical to spiritual level.

For textile products, in addition to practical, people now pay more attention to product beauty and harmony towards home environment.

A few years back, home textiles was restricted to indoor decorative textiles. But, today, this concept has extended to hotels, restaurants, cars, travel, medical and other fields.
