China : First bamboo-charcoal fibre clothing in Fuzhou

As bamboo-charcoal fibre has many advantages like water absorption, deodorization, anti-bacilli, warm and rich mineral, it is called 'black diamond'. The fibre has now been used in the production of clothing.

It is reported that bamboo-charcoal fibre clothing has been produced in Fuzhou city first. Fuzhou Bodu Clothing Co Ltd, which is the only manufacturer to produce bamboo-charcoal fibre clothing in Fujian province, has imported bamboo-charcoal fibre fabric from Taiwan, and from the end of last year, this company has begun its Research & Development activities in collaboration with Taiwanese companies. At present, Bodu company has successfully produced all kinds of products which are made from bamboo-charcoal fibre, such as leisure T-shirts, sports clothing, tight-fitting underwear, socks.

Because bamboo-charcoal fibre fabric is top-grade fabric, and the production cost is also very high, the bamboo-charcoal fibre clothing is also very expensive. A piece of T-shirt is available at over RMB1000 and healthy underwear costs you more than RMB600.
