China : Sewing machinery production rises in 2006

According to 5-year plan, Chinese sewing machinery industry will shift its focus from expansion to value addition and upgrading.

The sewing machinery industry has adopted optical-mechanical integration and automatic products.

Statistics show that in 2006, China produced over 700,000 sets of automatic sewing machines, with a growth rate of 75 percent compared to 2005. The production value accounted for 36 percent of the total sewing machines industry, which is still increasing.

Exporters are taking full interest to promote and develop the domestic sewing machinery industry.
