China : Lanxi County known for exquisite flax handicraft pictures

Lanxi County, in Heilong Jiang province is known Flax County. Flax products like yarn, fabric, clothing, textiles and exquisitely created handicraft pictures are very famous in China.

According to a local trader, there is a demand of flax yarn and fabrics in the international market and hugely imported by countries like America, Italy, Korea and other countries.

Although export of this fabric has brought enormous economic profit to the country, but traders are not happy as a flax cloth from China is sold at about 20 RMB a meter, whereas, a business suit sold in global market costs about RMB 40,000 a set.

According to experts, local flax enterprises need support from the Government. Authorities of Heilong Jiang province have paid enterprises to study about advanced technologies in other countries.
