China : CCFEI to hold 3rd Intl Recycled Polyester Market & Tech Forum

Previous conferences in 2005 and 2006 were attended by more than 200 participants from recycled fiber enterprises, traders, equipment plants, bottle grade chip suppliers etc, who exchanged opinions about market status and perspective.

• In 2006, recycled fiber capacity in China exceeded 5 million tons per year with a better margin compared with past years. However, with more than 500kt new capacity expected to come on stream in 2007, how should recycled fiber producers find balance between fast growing capacity and tightened feedstock supply, as there are now wider applications for recycled bottle flakes?
• In 2006 a lot of new products emerged. For example, virgin-like recycled fiber, super fine denier fiber, down-feather-like fiber and recycled filament, etc. While enjoying the margin brought by them, how should producers face challenges of technological bottlenecks, and how to expand their applications?
