China : Foreign trade popularizes textile testing

Keeping in mind their foreign clientele, more and more Chinese textile enterprises have started to pay attention to quality checks, which include running chemical, technological and physical tests on textile products.

This was deemed necessary because testing of textiles for quality is still in its infancy in the country. In order to make headway in international markets, Chinese textile enterprises have to adhere to strict testing norms.

At present, ecologic testing is most popular and it is the precondition that Chinese textile products have to meet if they are to be accepted in international arena.

However, it is very expensive to conduct this test. Foreign customers especially prefer that a product has passed an ecologic test. Many Chinese enterprises are falling over each other to gather as many ecologic certificates as possible.
