Vietnam : Overseas Fabric Supplier Are More Reliable Says Garment Manufacturers

An executive of a garment manufacturer said that since the foreign suppliers offer better service the Garment makers of Vietnam prefer to import fabric. He said international partners are willing to replace batches of bad goods, while only a few Vietnamese firms provide such a service.

As a result, garment firms pay little attention to domestic fabric, even though some argue it is of similar quality to imported products.

Vietnam Textile and Garment Corporation (Vinatex) recently attempted to address this with a fair for textile and garment firms to help lower prices and boosting competitiveness.
