United States Of America : Guess Q1 Loss Widens As Margins Suffer

 Casual clothing chain Guess Inc on Thursday revealed it widened its first quarter net loss as increased promotional activity hurt its margins.

The California-based company posted a net loss in the 13 weeks ended March 29 of $5.8 million versus $3.6m in the year-ago period with total sales up one per cent to $139.6m from $138.2m but same-store sales down 1.7 per cent.
