China : Plush fabric industry has bright future

The plush fabric industry in the country has been doing well. According to latest statistics, China has over 1,000 enterprises that produce plush fabric.

The Pearl River delta and the Changjiang River delta are the main production area of this fabric. Of this, EverSun Group occupies 22 percent of the total market share of Pearl River delta.

Though plush fabric is mainly used in the toy industry, the development of plush clothing and textile products is increasing the demand for the fabric.

Since plush textiles are also used in cars — each car needs about 23.2 metre of textiles — the future of plush fabric looks promising.

However, the number of big enterprises that produce one million yards of plush fabric annually is less than 100. China, at present, needs about 150 million yards of plush fabric each year.
