China : Govt backs bio-degumming technology development

　　The degumming technology is one of the key working procedures in the ramie textile industry. Five ramie enterprises of Hunan Province and Chongqing city began to using this technology.

　　Recently, the Hemp Research Institute of Chinese Agriculture Science Academy is setting up a facility in Changsha city, which can produce 300 tons of the degumed bacterium preparation. The plant will start operating by March nest year.

　　With this, ramie fabric processed by the bio-degumming technology will become the ecological textiles. Ramie textile sector in China had been high-cost affair and create severe environmental pollution, now will have a bright future.

　　At present, Chinese Development and Innovation Committee is offering a support for the development of the bio-degumming technology.
