JIAM 2008 apparel machinery trade fair to be held in May |

The 9th presentation of JIAM 2008, one of the world’s top 3 major apparel machinery trade fair, will be held in Singapore for the 1st time outside Japan from 13-16 May 2008.
Following the elimination of the export quotas coupled with the significant shift of manufacturing activities to meet the challenges of the competitive global market place, Asia alone accounts for more than 70% of the global production with South and East Asia emerging as textile powerhouses.
The decision by JASMA to hold JIAM in Singapore in May 2008 follows the global market changes, and takes into consideration future development and marketability in the region. Singapore is well-situated, easily accessible and in the centre of the South and South-East Asian markets.
JIAM 2008 will showcase the latest and most advanced machinery and equipment from the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers, demonstrating highly innovative and cutting edge technology that provides solutions for the apparel and textile industry.
