Since end Aug to early Sep, following with cotton and polyester market, re-PSF price maintained upward trend and its substitution advantages showed. However, polyester feedstock and cotton market stepped into fluctuating recently, market attention gradually focalized on recycled bottle flakes and its supports.
As we know, rises range of recycled bottle flakes price was relatively small, comparing to re-PSF market. Though price amount of increases on bottle flakes during National Holiday and mid Oct made up the rises gap somewhat, can recycled bottle flakes offer powerful supports on recycled polyester staple market?
From above chart we can see, profits of re-PSF was still 600-1200yuan/mt now. In Oct, price rises range of recycled bottle flakes (500-600yuan/mt) can absolutely turn into margins and some varieties' profits reached 1500-2000yuan/mt. It is the better choice that sold at current high price now, instead of raising price further.
According to current price of recycled bottle flakes, profits of re-PSF and its sales, cost supports from recycled bottle flakes were still insufficient. After price adjustment of bottle flakes and re-PSF further, margins and supply & demand will come into a rational range, and re-PSF market may access to a new balance status.
