Cotton price moves on a historically high level (Germany)

The price situation had further on aggravated and moves on a historically high level. The quotations jumped up within short time and repeatedly ended “limit up”. Hence, the possibility to give or receive reliable offers was heavily restricted. New crop offers from the origins are still rare and the news resp. rumours from various regions with regard to quality and weather were not really encouraging.

In the medium staple range only scant volumes were registered in Central Asian sorts for the first quarter 2011.

More interest in fine/extra fine cottons was shown in Far East. Local turnovers were limited to Egyptian GIZA 86 and 88 for dates in the fourth quarter 20010 and in the first quarter 2011.Israel Pima was traded for the same period of time.
