China's textile industry continues its boom both in domestic and export markets

China's textile industry continued its boom both in domestic and export markets in September, retail sales of social consumer goods totaled 1.3537 trillion Yuan, up 18.8 percent year on year, and 0.4 percentage points over August.

Of which, retail sales of clothing, shoes and textiles of above-scale enterprises registered 45.9 billion, an increase of 6 billion Yuan compared with August, up 26.7 percent year on year, the growth rate rose 1.2 percent compared with August.

Customs statistics showed that China's textile and apparel exports recorded US $20.015 billion in September, an increase of 19.5 percent year on year, but a decline of 0.6 percent from the previous month.

Of which, exports of fabrics and products based on fabrics completed US $6.814 billion, an increase of 20.2 percent year on year, and 2 percent from the previous month; imports of apparel and clothing accessories realized US $13.201 billion, an increase of 19.13 percent year on year, but a decline of 2 percent from the previous month.
