Foreign trade in south China's Guangdong up 30 % on-year

Southern China's Guangdong Province generated 627.28 billion U.S. dollars in foreign trade in the first 10 months of the year, a 30.1-percent year-on-year increase, the local customs house said Saturday. Accounting for 26.2 percent of the nation's total foreign trade, the figure included 360.05 billion U.S. dollars of exports, up 26.7 percent year on year, and 267.23 billion dollars of imports, up 35 percent.

The province's leading trade partners were Hong Kong, the United States, the European Union, ASEAN members, Japan and Taiwan Province.

From January to October, Guangdong's trade with the European Union rose 27.4 percent year on year to 75.46 billion U.S. dollars while trade with the United States climbed 22.2 percent to 80.28 billion dollars.

Its trade with Taiwan Province jumped 34.2 percent year on year to 40.43 billion U.S. dollars while trade with Hong Kong increased 32 percent to 122.22 billion dollars.
