Yarn Market Morning Express (Dec 2, 2010)

Cotton yarn prices continue to decrease and a big scale in Jiangsu reduces offers substantially. The market prices of high-grade cotton yarn 40s are at 39000yuan/mt while carded cotton yarn 40s at 37000yuan/mt. The transaction atmosphere remains dull and plants have sufficient spots inventory. In addition, the prevailing transaction prices of combed cotton yarn 40s are at 44000yuan/mt while big plants quote at 45000-46000yuan/mt. Polyester yarn prices also keep declining and the market prices of polyester yarn 32s for weaving in Jiangsu and Zhejiang are at 18500yuan/mt while for knitting at 19000yuan/mt. And transaction prices could be lower.

Recently imported cotton yarn prices keep downtrend with rare enquires and transactions. The prices of Pakistan cotton yarn prices 32s for knitting are at 38000yuan/mt, decreasing 6000-7000yuan/mt from previous time and traders quote cotton yarn 32s for weaving at 34000-35000yuan/mt. Meanwhile, India cotton yarn prices also slip down with dull sales.
