Yarn Market Morning Express (Dec 6, 2010)

The sales and prices of cotton yarn haven’t changed much last week. Downstream spinners have little interest to purchase yarns and the operating rate in Foshan keeps 30%-40%. In Foshan the prevailing prices of cotton yarn 32s for knitting are at 35000-36500yuan/mt while in Jiangsu and Zhejiang at 34000-35000yuan/mt with sufficient spots. The mainstream prices of combed cotton yarn 40s are close to 42000yuan/mt and in some regions even lower than 40000yuan/mt.

Rayon yarn prices have dropped substantially again and suppliers with increasing inventory are active to sell goods. The prices of rayon yarn 30s for weaving produced in Xiaoshan and Shaoxing are at 30500yuan/mt while for knitting produced in Xinxiang are at 32000-32500yuan/mt.
