China's top 45 textile and clothing companies saw their combined profit jump 24 per cent year-on-year to 690 million yuan ($84m) in the first four months of 2003, official data released on Wednesday revealed.
Figures from the State Asset Management Commission showed 10 of those firms posted a loss but the combined output of the 45 enterprises rose 25 per cent from the year-ago period to 29.7 billion yuan.It added the group's exports rose almost 17 per cent year-on-year to 3.7 billion yuan.
