Quotes remain on a high level, Bremen Cotton (Germany)

Bremen Cotton Exchange presents this week report for cotton sector. Since the last reported week the quotations for March at New York moved higher in significant jumps. The upward trend had not continued at the beginning of the Calendar week.

The quotes remained on a high level with moderate fluctuations compared to the previous week. Not affected were the prices for effective goods, which remained stable. A change of this situation was not expected for the near future, because available quantities were further reduced.

Demand existed for supplies in the first half of 2011, but there were little offers. In the medium staple range only small contracts had been negotiated to cover short-term needs for near delivery dates until beginning of the second quarter 2011, but in the LS/ELS range already for cotton of the next season.

In the medium staple range were single new contracts reported for West African, Central Asian and Spanish cotton for delivery prompt and 1. quarter 2011, for US cotton also for 2. quarter 2012.

In the LS/ELS range were sold US-Pima and Giza 88 for 1. quarter 2011. US-Pima, Israel Pima and Israel Acalpi were already traded for 1. quarter 2012.
