United States Of America : Kellwood Enjoys Strong Q1 Sales, Profit Lift

 Leading apparel producer Kellwood Co revealed it more than doubled its first quarter net profit on the back of acquisitions and improved sourcing but cut its full year sales outlook due to a weak retail environment.

The St Louis-based firm reported net earnings for the quarter ended May 3 of $20.8 million, or 78 cents per share, compared to $8.5m, or 37 cents per share, in the year-ago period.
