PET bottle chip held stable on Friday. Water bottle chips were talked at 11700-11800yuan/mt by cash, ex-East China. Transactions were mostly of small or medium volumes. Large deals were covered by looking-on mood. Selling indication of some plants were higher on the back of ample orders and low production. In south China, prices were relatively high due to turnarounds of some plants.
In export market, mainstream quotations were $1480-1500/mt, while talked level was $1460-1480/mt FOB. In Korea, as inventories have declined sharply, quotations were raised to $1470-1500/mt while talked or done level was $1450-1460/mt FOB.
Operating rates in PET bottle chip market is low as a whole, inventories have declined. Dec feedstock contract will be settled soon and PET bottle chip may continue to fluctuate within current price range.
