United States Of America : Garment Sector To Cross $1bn

Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) has claimed that highest value-added garments sector's exports are all set to cross one billion US dollars mark by 30th June 2003.

President PRGMEA Parvaiz Hanif said that it is PRGMEA's proud privilege to claim that against the target of 10 billion US dollars exports for the current year, the Association members have already earned US$880 million ending 30th April, 2003 and shall cross one billion dollars mark till 30th June, 2003.

According to him, PRGMEA is a top representative body of over 1200 members of textiles highest value-added manufacturing units continuing shouldering the responsibility side by side the government for over more than 2 decades in making its humble contribution of strengthening country's foreign exchange reserves.

Pervez said that PRGMEA has been recognising the top foreign exchange earners of the country in garment sector for over five years by awarding Export Excellence Awards trophies at its annual functions.
