Cotton yarn prices in Shandong and Jiangsu had rushed up by 500-1000yuan/mt. Big scale plants quoted combed cotton yarn 40s at 43500-44000yuan/mt, ex-work while some small plants still offered at 42500yuan/mt. As it was crucial time for building up stocks before Spring Festival, downstream demand recovered somehow, mainly for general yarns such as cotton yarn 26s, 32s and 40s. In Hutang, the sales of open end cotton yarn and cotton yarn 32s were tolerable.

Recently cotton prices mainly kept stable. The rising cotton yarn prices in some regions were mainly provoked by downstream spinners replenishing stocks. Although some plants raised offers, the transaction prices were difficult to climb up.

A big scale plant in Jiangsu continued to raise cotton yarn prices by 1000yuan/mt. It quoteed high-grade cotton yarn 32s for knitting at 41600yuan/mt, combed cotton yarn 32s at 43100yuan/mt, high-grade cotton yarn 40s at 43400yuan/mt, combed cotton yarn 40s at 45500yuan/mt, and open end cotton yarn 21s at 32600yuan/mt, ex-work. The sales of general ring spun yarns such cotton yarn 26s, 32s and 40s were smooth while the sales of open end cotton yarn were modest.
