Imposition of anti-dumping ruling on caprolactam imports

Chinese importers of caprolactam, particularly those importing from the United States and the European Union will be required to pay a security deposit from now onwards. This was revealed by the Ministry of Commerce (MOC). This ruling has come into effect from January 25.

According to a previous ruling, caprolactam was dumped into China from the European Union and the United States. This was revealed by the Ministry of Commerce on its official website.

The dumping of caprolactam caused an extensive damage to the domestic textile sector of China.

The final ruling on this will come later on once further investigations are completed in this regard.

Caprolactam is the basic raw material used in the manufacturing of Nylon 6 and is also used extensively in synthetic polymer production.
