Cotton linter price ticked up in early Mar as cotton price recovered, but it edged down later on dull VSF sales and softening cotton futures. Given tight supply expectation, the price may not slump.
Cotton linter pulp was quoted firmly amid limited supply and dissolving pulp suppliers generally stopped offering. More VSF plants were trying to adopt transformed paper pulp with mixed prices at 15500-17000yuan/mt.
Some VSF plants picked up offers early this month but sales weakened later and stocks were piled up. Rayon yarn prices were also revised down.
VFY offers were lifted up on rising cost but the increase of traded prices was limited, as downstream plants generally adopted a hand-to-mouth strategy.
