The Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) revealed that it is going to introduce several kinds of anti-virus protective clothing and materials which has been jointly developed by more than 20 manufacturers in the textile industry.
A TTF official said that the protective clothing and materials have met test standards of the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM-F-1670 and ASTM-F-1671.)
He said the textile manufacturers began to pool their technical resources to develop the clothing at the end of April under the sponsorship of the TTF when anti-virus protective clothing was in great demand due to the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
Representatives from the Taiwan Garment Industry Association, Taiwan Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Association, Taiwan Medical Equipment Industry Association, and the Republic of China Hospitals Association will attend the reception to endorse the new products.
