China 2011 cotton planting area seen up 5.2% Y-O-Y

BEIJING - China's cotton planting area this year is expected to rise 5.2 percent from 2010, lower than the 6.6 percent rise estimated last month, the China Cotton Association said on Thursday.

Total cotton area this year is expected at 5.4 million hectares, down from the association's previous forecast of 5.472 million hectares, it said on its website.
