There are 507 above-scale textile companies in Hunan province in 2010, rising by 34.5 percent from the year 2005. Overall industrial output of textile sector in Hunan totaled 63.25 billion RMB which is 3.5 times that of 2005. Major indicators of textile industry all exceeded the national average level. According to Liu Hui, Chief of Hunan Textile Industry Office, Hunan textile industry aspires to reach ambitious goals by 2015, that is, the overall cotton textile capacity to reach six million spindles forming three influential textile clusters and 12 textile manufacturing bases; nurture one or two textile magnate with annual sales reaching three to five billion RMB per year; five textile companies to be listed; industrial output of above-scale textile companies to reach 150 billion RMB with profit reaching six billion RMB. By the year 2020, overall industrial output of Hunan textile industry blueprinted to reach 250 billion RMB.
