According to China Cotton Association, China imported 157,100 tons cotton on July, which increased 30.89% compared to last mouth, and drooped 7% year on year.
From Jan to July, China imported 1,480,000 tons cotton, which dropped 13.3% compared to the same period of last year.
Previously the industrial officer said in order to satisfy the increasing demand of domestic textiles importers, it is estimated that the import volume in China will increase steadily.
In recent years, the domestic cotton output dropped continuously and led the farmer prefer to cultivate the grain, as the grain could gain better subside and it is not the labor intensive work.
However, China tried to increase the output of cotton continuously. In the early time of this year, China announced that the cotton reserve program will be implemented in order to support the domestic cotton price.
It is estimated that the detail of the program will be published in the end of this month, because the purchase will begin from Sep, 1st.
