McCleery, Ciba, Constab Develop UV/FR Yarn For Nortex Fabric |

McCleery Yarns Ltd., Northern Ireland, in cooperation with Ciba Specialty Chemicals Inc., Switzerland, and Constab Additive Polymers (UK) Ltd., England, has developed a polypropylene yarn that, in fabric form, offers ultraviolet (UV) stabilization and complies with the European M1 fire safety standard.
The yarn, used in Perfentex fabric ?part of the Nortex collection from England-based Interface Fabrics Group Ltd. ?contains Ciba抯 FLAMESTAB?fire-retardant (FR) and UV-stabilization additive. End-uses include domestic and contract upholstery products.
