Guangdong Textile Industry Mapped out Plan for Next Five Year

Recently, the Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province has released the "Guidelines for the Development of Textile Industry in the 12th Five-year Plan Period", setting targets for the years from 2011 to 2015: growth output grow 8% every year in average, sales value top CNY 620 billion, covering about 5% of the province´s total sales value of industry.

1. Status-quo of Local Textile Industry

Textile industry is one of traditional competitive industries in Guangdong Province. Through several decades of development, the industry has developed a complete production system of considerable scale concentrated in several areas each has dominant sectors, equipped with modern production technology and management and developed commercial and logistics facilities. With the constant expansion of scale, the Guangdong Province has become an important textile manufacturing base, export base, trend-setting center and goods collecting and distributing center.
