Yarn and cloth production declined in January |

A tracking survey of China Cotton Textile Association on part of cotton textile enterprises showed that yarn and cloth production declined in January due to weak demand and longer holidays in January.
Surveyed enterprises reported that yarn production fell 14.6 percent year on year in January, of which, pure cotton yarn production decreased by 17.1 percent, cotton blended yarn production increased by 15.7 percent, and pure synthetic yarn production decreased 18.9 percent, cloth production declined by 21.8 percent.
From production proportion of various types of yarns in January, pure cotton yarn accounted for 79 percent, the rate fell 4.2 percentage points from a year earlier, the proportion of cotton blended yarn increased by nearly 4 percentage points.
