For the first time, fashion designers from Macau, one of the two special administrative regions of China, showcased their creations at the recent Hong Kong Fashion Week 2014 Spring/Summer collection show, organized by Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
Macau’s best fashion designers showcased their collections at the ‘Macau Fashion Parade’, organized by the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) to promote Macau as a fashion design and apparel hub.
The event presented four major fashion labels from Macau—MaConsef, ZICS, Nega C and Nubiano—which showcased in total 60 items on an exclusive catwalk. These collections were also displayed at the ‘International Fashion Design Gallery’ at the fashion week.
The HKTDC event presented a variety of latest apparel and accessories, displayed to 17,000 buyers from 76 countries and regions, which increased 3 percent from the previous year, and a total of 1,268 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions.
The four-day fair had exhibitors for the first time from Canada, Poland and Russia, and had presentations from the Chinese mainland, India, Indonesia, Japan, Macau and Taiwan.
