Data from the General Administration of the Customs show that China exported US$ 51.2 billion worth of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods in January-June of this year, up 10.1% year-on-year. The export of garment and accessories totaled US$ 76.1 billion, up 13.4%. The export of textile yarn, fabric and made-up goods in June amounted to US$ 9.2 billion and the export of garment and accessories amounted to US$ 14.9 billion.
In the first half of this year, China imported 180,000 tons of textile-purpose synthetic fibers, up 5.3% over the same period of last year, and 200,000 tons of synthetic fiber yarn, down 3.3% from a year earlier. The import of textile-purpose synthetic fibers in June stood at 30,000 tons, synthetic fiber yarn 32,000 tons, amounting to respectively US$ 81.4 million and US$ 160 million.
