Value Added of Technical Textiles Sector Surge 14.6% in January-May

Figures of the National Bureau of Statistics show that the value added of the technical textiles sector grew 14.6% in the first five months of this year, ranking the first place for four successive months. The prime business revenue stood at CNY 89.87 billion and profit CNY 4.7 billion, up respectively 19.76% and 27.04% year-on-year. The deficit of loss-making enterprises dropped by 7.74% and the overall operation performance of the sector improved.

In the same period, the export of this sector amounted to US$ 7.97 billion, up 6.15% year-on-year, in which, the export of plastic coated fabric grew 9.38%, while that of tarpaulin and medical & hygiene products grew about 3%. The increased export price make major contribution to the export growth.
