WOOL WEEK is on again this year from 4 to 6 September 2013 at the Intercontinental The Rialto, 495 Collins Street, Melbourne.
Events on Thursday 5 September include the Luncheon / Forum with special guest speaker Mr Peter Ackroyd MBE, President International Wool Textiles Organisation and Wool Industry Dinner in the evening will be held at Flemington Racecourse.
The Sheep CRC will again hold a mini conference following the Luncheon / Forum on Thursday. Attendees are welcome to bring along their next to skin wear to be tested on the Comfort Meter and Handle Meter.
New to Wool Week this year is the “Love Wool – Naturally” conference to be held on Friday 6 September. The aim of the conference is to provide an overview of issues and developments in the wool industry over the past 12 months.

- The Campaign for Wool, - Biosecurity and the Australian Wool Industry - Market Outlook - Investment in wool education and fashion - Maintaining and Improving Market Access for the Australian Wool Industry. - Designer using wool - Catriona’s Babywear Collection
Andrew Metcalfe AO, Secretary DAFF will officially open the conference on Friday morning.
Special guest speakers include Catriona Rowntree, Peter Ackroyd MBE, IWTO, Paul Swan AWI, Jo Evans DAFF, Chris Wilcox Poimena Analysis, Tina Guglielmino RMIT to name a few. Designers using wool include Ali Wanchap & Ian Gill.
A Wool Display has been organised to be on show at the Intercontinental The Rialto Melbourne, 495 Collins Street Melbourne from 2 to 8 September. The display will be from the sheep’s back to fashion and interior textiles. It will also include garments from the International Woolmark prize and champion fleeces from this year’s Royal Agricultural Show.
