To launch its collection for the autumn/winter season, Tibetan fashion label YEEOM recently held a fashion show in Lhasa, the capital of China’s Tibet region.
On show were around 30 new autumn/winter attires for men and women, which included flax underlinen, Tibetan skirts, linen blouses, coats and men’s and women’s dresses made from traditional Tibetan woollen fabric – furry pullu.
Pilgrims dressed in clothes with different styles and colours, each day visit the Barkor Street of Lhasa. Their dressing comes as a great collision of tradition and fashion and this is where he drew the idea for his collection, Tashi, the designer of the brand said, Tibet.cn reported.
He said through the showcase, they mean to present the beauty of Tibetan costume in a fashionable manner.
The collection based on the theme ‘Accident and Surprise’ highlights the beauty of the subfusc winter and creates a visual impact with contrasting hues.
The brand name Yeeom means wisdom, beauty, kindness and health in Tibetan, while in its essence the brand aims at fusing traditional and modern fashion styles in Tibet with global trends.
